The serial number would be a great start, and also what VA medical center you ordered the chair or parts through. Unfortunately we have never used a stainless steel bearing for any of our models, the price would be much greater for stainless. We also have been working on a newer seat, it is called the Comfortuff series. These are a black molded urethene foam. It may prove to be more durable then the ensolite seat you more then likely have. Everyone is different in the way they sit and position themselves, but we are here to help, so please call with any questions you may have. I'VE HAD THE CHAIR FOR ABOUT A YEAR KNOW THE FRONT CASTER BEARING RUSTED OUT AND THEY HAVE TO BE CHANGED THIS IS NOT AS EASY BECAUSE THE RACE RUST IN PLACE AND THE COST IS ABOUT $15 DOLLARS IF THIS COMPANY WOULD SPEND PROBLEY $10 TO 15 THEY WOULD HAVE A ALOT BETTER CHAIR.....
